1- Downtown Bethesda

Bethesda, one of the most renowned communities in the Washington, D.C. metropolitan area, is a destination for ethnic restaurants, boutiques, home décor shops and artistic and trendy hot spots. Downtown Bethesda is home to numerous fashion boutiques, home design shops, art galleries, salons and community services.  With nearly 700 retailers and businesses present in the downtown, Bethesda is a destination for any shopping need.

2- Capital Crescent Trail

The Capital Crescent Trail is complete for seven miles from Georgetown to Bethesda. This section features a 10-foot wide asphalt path and wherever possible an adjacent 2-foot wide stone-dust trail for joggers. Most of the Trail passes through parks and other wooded areas; it passes over four bridges, through two tunnels, and provides beautiful vistas over the Potomac. Pick up a bike at one of hundreds of stations around the metro DC area. See bike availability on the System Map or mobile app. Take as many short rides as you want while your pass is active. Passes and memberships include unlimited classic bike trips under 30 minutes. End a ride by returning your bike to any station. Push your bike firmly into an empty dock and wait for the green light to make sure it’s locked. $2 For a quick, classic bike trip under 30 minutes. $8 for a 24 hour pass. $7/month for an annual membership. 

3- Access to DC. When you live in Bethesda, MD, you border Washington D.C. which gives you easy access to all D.C. has to offer! Check out the Zoo and the Smithsonian Museaums! They’re FREE!

4- Metro. You have 2 metro stations in Bethesda. Bethesda Metro and the NIH metro stop. Both are on the red line and will take you into DC or out to Rockville and Gaithersburg.
